The short version
- You don't need an account. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your browser gets a random ID so we can tell visits apart. It isn't linked to who you are.
- If you add your flight, we store the flight details so the app can fit suggestions to your time.
- If you use the chat, we keep a copy of your message and the reply.
- We don't sell personal data, and there are no ads.
- Questions or deletion requests: terminalplusapp@gmail.com
Who runs Terminal+
Terminal+ is run by Todd Byrne. For anything about your data, email terminalplusapp@gmail.com.
What we collect
A random app ID
When you first open Terminal+, your browser creates a random ID and a session ID. They're stored on your device and sent with app activity so we can count visits and see how people move through the app.
How you use the app
Which moods, collections and venue pages you open, which venues were shown and tapped, how long you spent on a venue page, the terminal you're in and minutes to boarding. For searches we record how long the search was and how many results came back. We don't store the words you searched.
Flight details you choose to add
Flight number, the airports involved, departure time, your inbound flight and arrival time if you add one, connection length, whether you're connecting, departing or just landed, and how you entered the flight.
Answers you give
If you tell us whether you made it to a place, why not, or roughly what you spent (in bands like "under S$10"), or tap "I'm here" or that you've reached your gate, we store that answer.
Chat
Your message (up to 500 characters) and the reply (up to 1,000 characters), with your terminal, gate and minutes to boarding, and which AI model answered.
Voice
If you tap the microphone in the chat, your browser turns your speech into text. Depending on your browser, the audio may be processed by Google (Chrome) or Apple (Safari). We receive only the text, which is handled like a typed message. If you turn on read-aloud, your browser speaks the reply.
Your device and how you arrived
Your device's language and time zone, and the country your connection comes from when you first set up the app, whether you add a flight or skip it. We work out the country from your IP address at that moment and don't store the IP address. We also record the website that linked you here (the domain only), any campaign tags in the link, and the first page you landed on.
Requests from AI assistants
AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can look up Terminal+ on someone's behalf. We receive only what the assistant sends in that request (for example a terminal, a gate, time available or a mood), never the conversation. We log the request, what we returned, how long it took, and a session ID the assistant provides.
What we don't collect
- No account, name, email address, phone number or payment details.
- No GPS or precise location.
- No contacts, photos or files from your device.
- We don't store IP addresses or browser details in our database. We check the browser type once to filter out automated bots, then discard it.
What stays on your device
Your flight, saved places, settings and the random app ID are kept in your browser's storage so the app works when you come back. Profile, then Reset flight context clears your flight from this device. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes everything, including the random ID.
Why we use it
- To run the app: show places that are open, in your terminal and that fit the time you have.
- To make recommendations better over time.
- To understand which links and posts bring people to Terminal+.
- To keep the service working and secure.
- To produce combined statistics about how travellers use Changi (for example, how long connecting passengers spend in each terminal). We may share these statistics with partners such as airports or lounge operators. They never contain individual records, and before anything is shared, any group smaller than 5 travellers is removed.
Who processes it for us
Vercel
Hosts the app and its servers (Singapore). Like any web host, it sees your IP address when you connect and keeps request logs for a short time.
Supabase
Our database, in Frankfurt, Germany. Only our own server code can read or write the activity data described above.
Anthropic
Writes the chat replies. It receives your message, the last few messages in that chat, and context such as your flight number, destination, terminal, gate, passenger type and boarding time.
AeroDataBox (via API.market)
Looks up live flight status. It receives the flight number and date.
Google Fonts
The app's fonts load from Google, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
Cookies
Terminal+ sets no cookies. It keeps what it needs in your browser's storage instead (see "What stays on your device").
How long we keep it
We haven't set an automatic deletion period yet. Until we do, records are kept until you ask us to delete them. When we add a deletion period, we'll say so on this page.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete data about you. Because there's no account, we find your records by what you entered: email us the flight number and date (and roughly when you used the chat, if relevant), and we'll match and delete them. Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, Singapore's PDPA or Australia's Privacy Act give you further rights. Email us to use them, and we'll reply within 30 days.
Where it's processed
Your data may be handled in Singapore, Germany, the United States and other countries where the providers listed above operate.
Children
Terminal+ isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Activity tables can't be read from the public internet; only our server code can reach them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
